Looks like alleged Mexican cop killer Raul Garcia-Gomez might not escape justice after all. He is headed back to the U.S.
compliments of Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mexico has an
appeal process that could take months, but once he gets back to Denver,
he'll stand trial for the murder of Detective Donald Young and the
attempted murder of Detective Jack Bishop. He faces up to 96 years in
prison.
Now that's something to be thankful for.
Happy turkey day everybody!

Meanwhile, Rep. Tom Tancredo is all over Mayor Hickenlooper's ass:
Tancredo has been in a war of words with Denver since the May killing of Denver police detective Donald Young. The suspect in that case, Raul Garcia-Gomez, was an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Tancredo accused Hickenlooper of turning Denver into a "sanctuary" for illegal immigrants and claimed the city has a policy of "noncooperation" with immigration authorities.
All of which is nonsense, says the mayor.
Nonsense? What's nonsense is that Detective Young is dead and wouldn't be if the disgraceful mayor had been cooperating with immigration authorities instead of employing illegal immigrants at his restaurant. Even more nonsensical is the fact that this mayor is still in office. I'd like to see him on trial with Garcia-Gomez as his accomplice.
