The Turkish hostages were freed. Outstanding! I'm curious if anyone thinks the perpetrators didn't go through with the beheadings because these hostages were Muslim...
And does that mean Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun might also be spared this fate?
And what about the Pakistani man who's been captured?
Unfortunately, Army Spc. Keith "Matt" Maupin was not spared. While he wasn't beheaded, reports say a video reveals he was killed "execution style." The military has not yet confirmed his identity.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all these families.
My prayers that these terrorists meet their maker sooner than later are also going out loud and clear. It's time the price was paid for the lives of Daniel Pearl, Robert Jacob, Paul Johnson, Kim Sun-il and all those who have died at the hands of these despicable excuses of human beings. May these victims all rest in peace while these barbarics are tortured endlessly at the hands of Haides. 72 virgins. Heh. They wish.
Previously on Drink this...
Too much naiveté on this...
Outrage over the beheading of this...
I have been praying for P.F.C. Maupin since he was captured. I have his picture on my night stand, and have begged God he wouldnt be beheaded. If they did kill him I am at least releived it was quick. I am so heartbroken for his family, and for our nation, to have been brought into a war over weapons of mass destruction that in the end didnt exist.P.F.C. Maupin will be mourned and missed. God bless him and his family and GOD bless us all. May we be led out of this unjustified war before more like him must die. VOTE, go register and VOTE!

These animals who execute American soldiers on video think they have a chance of winning. They think they can defeat us by dropping to the lowest levels of humanity, by shocking the world. Time and time again, such barbaric subhumanism only stuns for a short time. Our successful position in the world is due to our overwhelming force, the power and threat of bloodshed which creates the peace. Other countries cower, and sit and wait on the outskirts like vultures, like Iran, waiting for a moment of weakness.
The death of American soldiers in such a manner must be avenged. Meanwhile we must fight this war with a political objective in mind. I hope to god we bring Mr. Maupins murderer's to justice, no doubt they will probably die a nameless death admist the rubble of some town no one cares about.
This war is about the future of the western world and who will control the resources that fuel it. This war is much more than Vietnam. Pray for Mr. Maupins and his family and for other soldiers. For many more must die, on both sides, until we can finally achieve the peace which will never be possible without bloodshed.
