Meet Abd al-Aziz al-Muqrin

Just ten days ago there were reports about this rising star of Al-Qaeda in Saudi Arabia:

Al-Muqrin is believed to have a longtime relationship with al-Qaida's Saudi-born founder Osama bin Laden, but many authorities and experts assume he exercises a fair amount of autonomy in overseeing his terrorist dominion in Saudi Arabia.

Authorities can barely even guess at his whereabouts and aren't certain whether he's remained in the kingdom or directs his operations from afar. [...]

The guessing game ended with this...

"Yes it is correct, he (Muqrin) was killed with two other senior militants," a Saudi security source said. He said Muqrin was one of three killed in the al-Malazz area of the capital, Riyadh, in a shootout.

The source said Muqrin and his men were killed while they were trying to dispose of Johnson's body. He said forces had combed four Riyadh areas before honing in on a building where the militants were holed up. [...]

Jonathan Schanzer, an expert in radical Islamic movements, referred to al-Muqrin as one of the top 2-3 active terrorists in the world. In a Fox News interview tonight, Schanzer mentioned that al-Muqrin had been released from university studies early for 'good-behavior' and for memorizing the Quran.

Obviously, he hasn't forgotten this...

In a recent speech al-Muqrin said this...
