Remember this beauty?
In case you've been living in a cave, you already know that Roman Polanski's 8-month pregnant wife, Sharon Tate, was murdered by The Manson Family on August 9, 1969 along with coffee heiress Abigail Folger, Jay Sebring, Voytek Frykowski and Steven Parent. Leno and Rosemary LaBianca we murdered the following evening.
Helter Skelter, the new 3-hour MFTV movie based on the bestselling true-crime book of all time by Vincent Bugliosi, the Manson Family prosecuting attorney, airs tonight at 8:00 PM ET/PT on CBS. Unlike the 1976 original CBS mini-series, the new movie focuses less on the murder trials and more on the events leading up to the killings, specifically how Manson was able to turn peaceful hippy kids into cold-blooded killers.
I predict Jeremy Davies' compelling performance as Manson--a role it seems he was born to play--will be award-winning. Clea Duvall is also great as Manson Family member Linda Kasabian. He had me mesmerized throughout the movie (which I was fortunate enough to screen commercial free).

"Helter Skelter" is a terrifically good movie - especially for fans of true crime and criminal history. But you may not sleep for a few nights afterward. - Linda Stasi, New York Post
I found myself becoming a fan of Sharon Tate in the late '80's. She truly was one of the most beautiful women in the world not only on the outside but also to those who knew her, on the inside, as well. I watch her films when I see them being run on TV. I think had that horrible night never happened, she would have become one of the premiere actresses in entertainment. She never had the opportunity to perfect her craft as an actress. This truly was one of the biggest Hollywood tragedies of all time.
