Kimora Lee Simmons Endorses Hillary Clinton

Fashion mogul, business entrepreneur, author, top model and mom Kimora Lee Simmons today endorsed Hillary Clinton for President. Simmons cited Clinton's ability to deliver real change for working families.

"I have known Hillary for many years and have seen her work passionately on many issues, including poverty, education, and prison reform," said Simmons. "I'm proud to support Hillary because she has the experience necessary to deliver real solutions and turn our country around. In addition, seeing Hillary as President would be an inspiration to my daughters, knowing that they too can be anything they want if they have the determination to make it happen. As a mother, I have learned that you must lead with your head, not just your heart, and I'm confident that Hillary will be the President to bring our country together and deliver a brighter future for all Americans."

Kimora Told: No 'Perk'ing

Spoiled diva Kimora Lee Simmons has been stripped of her latest fashion accessory - a parking permit proclaiming she's on "official business" for the city's Correction Department, officials said yesterday.

The placard was a gift from a jail guard who moonlights as her chauffeur.

But he will likely face just a slap on the wrist, and Simmons won't have to model prison stripes.

An eagle-eyed Post photographer last week snapped her Cadillac Escalade - and the placard - while it was parked outside Barneys on the Upper East Side.

The model-turned-fashion queen was inside at the time, doing some shopping with her actor boyfriend, Djimon Hounsou.

Simmons, the fashion-icon wannabe and former wife of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, claimed she didn't know how she got the pass.

"I don't know. I don't know," she babbled.

"I'm not driving!"

Authorities declined to name the offending officer/chauffeur and identified him only as a 10-year department veteran.

The officer had properly acquired the pass when he worked in the department's emergency-services unit.

But he should have turned it in two years ago, after he was promoted and transferred to a Rikers Island job, said Deputy Commissioner Stephen Morello.

"With emergency services, it was a position where he could be called on short notice to a facility in a neighborhood where parking was an issue," Morello said.

"But at Rikers Island, that's no longer an issue."

Morello said the department had approved the officer's extracurricular driving job.

Simmons doesn't appear to be in legal jeopardy despite breaking the rules to score prime parking spots, authorities said.

"The placard seems, in this case, to be the responsibility of the officer, and DOC [Department of Correction] has already retrieved it from the officer," Morello said.

The officer is likely to face, at worst, internal discipline, possibly a brief suspension or fine.

A spokesman for the union representing correction officers said none of its members has asked for representation against administrative charges involving parking passes.

The Bloomberg administration is in the midst of a crackdown on the illegal use of parking permits.

Kimora Lee Strips for PeTa

Wearing nothing but a stunning pair of angel wings and holding her dog, Zoe, supermodel and fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons goes au naturel for peta2's gorgeous new ad campaign, "Be an Angel for Dogs." In the ad, Simmons shows off her naked desire to get people to make dogs a part of their families--and not leave them tied up outside or cooped up at home alone all day.

"Play with them ... take them for long walks ... don't ever cage or chain them," says Simmons. The campaign will debut in magazines soon and is being launched to coincide with national Unchain a Dog Month, which is observed every January.

Millions of dogs are left chained and unattended in back yards across the U.S. every day--shivering in the dead of winter and suffering in the extreme heat of summer. They are frequently denied even the most basic care, including adequate food; fresh water; shelter from the elements; and preventive, basic protection from tormenting parasites like fleas, ticks, flies, mosquitoes, and worms. Living day after day in isolation causes these social, pack-oriented animals to suffer from loneliness and distress. Intensive confinement and a lack of socialization can drive dogs insane and make them dangerous.

In an exclusive interview with peta2, Simmons says, "You cannot just chain up an animal. The chains are heavy, it's cruel. Dogs need to run and play." She urges people to do whatever they can to help neglected backyard dogs. "Everybody should do the best they can, because a lot of little 'best-you-cans' add up to a lot of saved animals," says Simmons.

What's more, Simmons has donated more than $20,000 to PETA to help severely underprivileged dogs living in low-income, rural areas. Thanks to her generosity, more than 100 dogs have received sturdy, weather-tight doghouses with a shade overhang for summer, straw bedding, toys, and new collars and harnesses. Dogs found with injuries or illness have also received emergency medical care--treatment that their guardians might not have been able to afford. Simmons' funding of PETA's program provides not only truckloads of houses but also staff to deliver them, truck rental and gas, and the equipment to dig up fences and posts that commonly tangle dogs' tethers.

The wings Simmons wears were designed by renowned costumemaker Martin Izquierdo, the genius behind Victoria's Secret's iconic angel wings, who adapted his design and created Simmons' wings out of 100 percent cruelty-free synthetic materials.
