With tots tottering around in togs from Dolce & Gabbana and Versace, it was only a matter of time before they started accessorizing with something even more ludicrous -- er, luxurious: bling.
As diamonds encrust everything from dog collars to PlayStations, it's no surprise they're bejeweling babies, too. Kimora Lee Simmons' Simmons Jewelry Co. offers ice-adorned initial pendants and cuff earrings for really Lil' Kims.
Celebrity favorite Chris Aire has diamond and platinum ID bracelets, stud earrings and pinkie-sized rings for red-carpet crawlers. BabyGund sells matching mother-daughter diamond tennis bracelets ($12,000 for the pair) as well as The Birth Diamond necklace, because, of course, "forever begins at birth."
Mark Bloom of Jewelry Brands Group, which manufactures and markets the BabyGund collection, insists that although his are gifts for newborns, "they will get use out of them for many years -- through the toddler years."
