Child magazine, the leading parenting resource and authority on children's style, has announced plans to present the first-ever children's runway show to be held during "Olympus Fashion Week" in the Atelier under the 7th on Sixth tents in Bryant Park alongside fashion's other leading names. The presentation will be held Monday, February 7th at 9:00 a.m. and feature looks from the fall/winter 2005 collections of today's hottest names in children's wear, including Tommy Hilfiger, Nicole Miller, Kenneth Cole, Escada, Guess?, Tocca, Roc-A-Wear, Phat Farm Boys, Baby Phat Girlz by Kimora Lee Simmons, Gap Kids, Lucy Sykes Baby, Marie Chantal, Primigi, Calypso, Fishman and Tobin, Marc Ecko and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.
According to Child Editor in Chief Miriam Arond, "Children's fashion has never been recognized in the same way that the adult lines have, and yet, if you look at the clothing that comes out season after season, the designs often rival or even surpasses men's and women's wear lines in terms of creativity, use of color and experimentation. We hope this presentation will finally underscore the talent behind children's wear and show not only fashion reporters, but parents too, that kids fashion can be stylish and fun, not just functional."
Adding to the excitement of Child magazine's runway presentation, produced by Child fashion director, Gay Morris Empson, will be special one-of-a-kind designs created for the show by Nicole Miller, Kenneth Cole and Lucy Sykes. Since no catwalk is truly complete without celebrity models, Child will feature the next wave of fashionistas as guest models, including Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons's daughter Ming Lee, Damon Dash's children Boogie and Ava, as well as Lindsay Lohan's younger siblings, Aliana and Dakota.
