As predicted, Garth Brooks is back! and with his classic Garth flava and it is fabby!  Single is "Good Ride Cowboy," a tribute to the late Chris LeDoux.

"Good Ride Cowboy" debuted on the country radio chart at #18, breaking a record set by Garth's "The Thunder Rolls," which debuted in 1991 at #19. [Source: Billboard]

"Good Ride Cowboy"
Written by Richie Brown, Jerrod Niemann, Brian Kennedy and Bob Doyle

From the hills of Kaycee, Wyoming
Where life's wooly and wild
There's a Navy brat in a cowboy hat
And that Copenhagen smile
And from buckin' broncs to honky tonks
He always sang a cowboy's song
We were much too young, havin' too much fun
As we all sang along

We sang Life's a Highway
There's only one way you're gonna get through it
When she starts to twist be more like Chris
Pull your hat down tight
And just LeDoux it!
When that whistle blows
And that crowd explodes
And them pickup men are at your side
They tell you good ride cowboy, good ride

From gold buckles to gold records
Once again he was spinnin' 'round
Took the whole world on
And he turned us on to that Western Underground
And from Bareback Jack to This Cowboy's Hat
The songs were stronger than his pain
He would not slow down from town to town
Like children running thru the rain

We sang Life's a Highway
There's only one way you're gonna get through it
When she starts to twist be more like Chris
Pull your hat down tight
And just LeDoux it!
When that whistle blows
And that crowd explodes
And them pickup men are at your side
They tell you good ride cowboy, good ride

We sang Life's a Highway
There's only one way you're gonna get through it
When she starts to twist be more like Chris
Pull your hat down tight
And just LeDoux it!
When that whistle blows
And that crowd explodes
And them pickup men are at your side
They tell you good ride cowboy, good ride

When we cross that river Jordan,
With St Peter on the other side
Singin' Good Ride Cowboy, Good Ride!
Say Good Ride Cowboy, Good Ride!

Retired cowboy has a hard time saying good night to this...

As I mentioned before, retired Garth Brooks is making music again.  He has a new single out, a tribute to the late Chris LeDoux, out called "Good Night, Cowboy."  I heard it on KZLA tonight on my way home and have to admit I've missed Garth. I still don't think an album is out of the question.

Georgia rain falls on this...

When my apparently-doesn't-know-it-all pal asked me yesterday what Garth Brooks was going to announce at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace today, my guess was his engagement to Trisha Yearwood or an album or both.

One down:  Garth proposed and Trisha accepted during today's "Legends in Bronze" unveiling ceremony.

And we know Brooks has been in the studio 'cause he's featured on Yearwood's first single "Georgia Rain" from her upcoming album Jasper County (in stores Sept. 18).  So I don't think an album is entirely out of the question.  We all know artists have a hard time retirin'.  And speaking of artists having a hard time retiring...

Two down:
