Beanie Sigel found himself briefly back in prison today (November 10), this time over child support.
The Philadelphia-based emcee was jailed until he paid $26,000 in back child support. He was released in an hour, after paying the support and $2,000 in fines.
Beans was in court to answer to a contempt of court hearing over his delinquent child support payments. Earlier in the week, Philadelphia Police issued a warrant for the emcee's arrest after he missed a previous hearing regarding the matter.
During the hearing, Sigel claimed to have made cash payments to the child's mother, but he had no records to back his claim. Meanwhile, Walter McHugh, Sigel's attorney, also argued that his client has not been earning income to pay the support because of his recent legal troubles. Am I the only one who's curious about how why delinquent fathers only manage to come up with the money they don't have once they need it to get out of jail?
