NOVEMBER 17--It's nice to be wanted, but not like this: Santa Monica police are looking for the rapper Young Buck in connection with a stabbing during Monday night's taping of the Vibe Music Awards. The 23-year-old performer (real name: David Darnell Brown) is facing a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly trying to knife a man who had earlier punched rapper/producer Dr. Dre (real name: Andre Young). Brown, a Nashville native, is a member of 50 Cent's G-Unit posse, which is affiliated with Dr. Dre and his protégé, Eminem. According to cops, a videotape of the Vibe melee shows Brown "lunging over another male and swinging the knife" at his intended victim. As the below Nashville Police Department mug shot attests, Brown has previously been the subject of law enforcement scrutiny, with his rap sheet showing a couple of drug arrests, as well as busts for domestic assault and driving without a license.

Bob Dylan Tops Rolling Stone's Greatest-Song List

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "Like a Rolling Stone," Bob Dylan (news)'s scornful, ironic ode to a spoiled woman's reversal of fortune, was named the greatest rock 'n' roll song of all time on Wednesday by Rolling Stone magazine.

The six-minute opening track from his landmark 1965 album "Highway 61 Revisited" broke the barrier of the three-minute hit single and established Dylan as a mainstream pop artist, marking his transformation from folk troubadour to rock sensation.

"No other pop song has so thoroughly challenged and transformed the commercial laws and artistic conventions of its time, for all time," wrote Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke in an article accompanying the magazine's list of the top 500 rock songs of all time.

The list, published in a special edition out on Friday, was compiled by a panel of recording artists, producers, label executives, critics and songwriters. Among them were singer Art Garfunkel, Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, vocalist Joni Mitchell and even Dylan's rock star son, Jakob.

Well, the story might be fake, but my advice to mR. Kelly is authentic and still stands.

Killing the vibe at this...

What is it with the "urban culture" and awards shows?  What possible reason could there be to start a fight and throw tables and chairs while music legend Quincy Jones is on stage with hip-hop's favorite Dogg getting ready to present Dr. Dre with an award?  And who in hip-hop would want to deny Dr. Dre and attack him instead?

Violence erupted last night at the taping of the 2nd Annual Vibe Awards--and a stabbing too:

Reports are sketchy, but according to eyewitnesses, as Snoop Dogg and Quincy Jones were getting ready to present Dr. Dre with the Vibe Legend Award, Dre was attacked near the stage. Witnesses said Dre was standing next to his wife when the man approached in a friendly manner, and then all of a sudden began throwing punches at the rapper/producer's head.

When bodyguards and people with the G-Unit jumped in to protect Dre, things quickly got out of control. While there were some reports that a man with the G-Unit's entourage was stabbed, a spokesperson for the group had no comment on the matter.
