Ryan Star to release songs from the eye of an elephant on this...

Rock Star: Supernova's Ryan Star's Stone Crow Records has inked a deal with KOCH Records to release Songs From the Eye of An Elephant, a stripped down collection of outtakes and demos highlighting the artist's talent.  The album will be in stores Sept. 19 and is available for pre-order now at Amazon.com.

Months before he even contemplated being on a reality show, Star was selling out shows in the Northeast and riding the wave to national recognition when a friend in the industry put him on the list to audition for the show. On a whim, Star continued through several rounds of auditions with over 25,000 people until he was selected for the final cast. At first Star rejected the offer because his career was already breaking organically, but later accepted after realizing the global exposure would catalyst his growth. He is now planning a global tour to perform for all his new fans.

Over the past few years, Star has toured the country with major acts like Bon Jovi, KISS, Chevelle and Third Eye Blind. He has had notable appearances such as opening for Avril Lavigne, Gavin DeGraw, and headlining a Pre-Election Night Party for Mayor Bloomberg. He has also worked with top producers such as Greg Wattenberg (Five for Fighting) and Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam).

Songs From the Eye of An Elephant highlights the pure talent of Ryan Star. Although it started as a gift to fans supporting his live shows in the Lower East Side of New York City, KOCH will now officially release the album with major distribution.

Ryan Star is a charmer. A winking, rocking, All-American flirt who'll make hearts melt worlds over. But he's also one hell of a rock musician, with a wonderful ear, a rich voice and a good sense of himself within the crazy world of rock and roll.

Citing classic rock as an early influence, the 28 year old Long Island, New York native learned guitar by dusting off his brother's unused guitar and learning songs by ear. From then on he started the band Stage with high school buddies, a rocking group of youths who played the legendary CBGB's and Mercury Lounge with parents in tow (they were underage).

But as a grown-up college student, Ryan continued with Stage, eventually signing with Madonna's Maverick Records. This brought him to Los Angeles, and to clubs all over the U.S., touring the country more than once.

But when the group began recording their second album, Ryan decided to move in a different direction, to "take the leap and follow my heart." We're ready, and we can't wait to see what's next.
