Q. How do you get to audition on the Def Poetry show?
A. I do not know if HBO has picked up Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry for a sixth season, but they are receiving submissions.  Please note the following requirements:

• VHS containing 3 pieces no longer than 2-3 mins. The shorter the better.  Keep it simple but perform with intensity.
• No music
• Live crowd optional but not necessary
• This is a nat'l audience. Make sure your pieces have nat'l appeal.
• Tapes will not be returned
