N.C. authorities have charged Earl Wayne Flowers, 51, of Taylorsville, with one count of murder in connection with the shooting death of Jimmy Sprinkle.
Flowers is being held without bail in the Alexander County Detention Center.
A source tells TGOM that Sprinkle's wife, Sylvia, had recently completed a stint in rehab for meth addiction. It is unknown at this time if this is connected in any way with Sprinkle's murder, but if there are drugs involved, I can't help but think it is. I do hope the police are investigating this angle.
Update from the Hickory Daily Record:
Flowers' criminal background dates back to 1975, according to the N.C. Department of Correction. Some of his felony convictions include possession of stolen goods, rape, kidnapping and escaping prison.
