Emily Ann Whitaker, 23, is the former girlfriend of suspended NASCAR driver Shane Hmiel, who currently drives in the ISCARS series. The couple dated for about three years before breaking up in 2005.
Emily, an award-winning equestrian, is the youngest daughter of horse breeders Larry and Linda Whitaker of Whitaker Farms in Wyoming and Arkansas. Whitaker Farms was a sponsor of Shane's NCTS #15 Chevrolet Silverado ride in 2004.
In the fall of 2005, Emily was a frequent female companion of Shane's friend, Nextel Cup driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. There was much speculation about their relationship but no indication that it ever progressed beyond their long-time friendship.
