A. Guns 'n' Roses Axl Rose is dating Diane O'Connor, ex-wife of Michael Hilfiger.

Axl recently scuffled with his girlfriend's ex-husband's brother, famous designer Tommy Hilfiger.  The scuffle made the cover of the New York Post and early reports attributed the turf war to a dispute over a VIP table Rosarios Dawson's birthday celebration.

Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger's physical attack on Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose last week has been linked to the rocker's current girlfriend. The singer is currently dating Diane O'Connor - the ex-wife of Hilfiger's adopted brother, Michael - and both designers are furious with Rose, according to the New York Post's PageSix.com.

The pair were at The Plumm nightclub in New York City, where Rose played a surprise acoustic show, when they got into a heated argument which ended with Hilfiger allegedly hitting Rose. The designer was promptly escorted out of the club by security guards.

Rose told his side of the story on Friday morning during an interview with KROQ radio station in Los Angeles, explaining the fight started when he politely asked the designer to move his date's drink so it wouldn't get spilled. Hilfiger allegedly flew into rage, "smacking" the singer in the arm and cursing at him.

According to Plumm owner Noel Ashman, Hilfiger took two swings at Rose. He says, "Axl was a gentleman and had the good sense not to retaliate, as he would have done some serious damage to Hilfiger.

Michael H. ulimately weighed in with this...

That's what Tommy Hilfiger's adopted brother, Michael H., says happened when Axl Rose asked if he could romance Michael's ex, Diane O'Connor. The Guns N' Roses singer's relationship with O'Connor was rumored to have been a factor in last week's nightclub brawl between Rose and Hilfiger.

But Michael H. (that's what he calls himself) - a denim designer who fronts the rock band, Michael H. and the Bashers - says the brawl was a simple misunderstanding. "I don't think Axl knew it was Tommy and I don't think Tommy knew it was Axl," he said. "But by the time they realized it, the fuse was already lit - and you can't put out the fuse on dynamite."

Says Michael: "We're all family. Axl's guitarist in Guns N' Roses is Richard Fortus, who also plays in my band. I've seen Axl and my ex-wife practically every night for the past two weeks, and we're all cool. I'm sure that he and Tommy will make up over a drink or dinner someday."
