Fatherhood: Sadler gushes over this...

NASCAR driver is looking forward to being a dad.

On the birth of his and wife Amanda's first child, Wyatt, Elliott Sadler said, “It was by far the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me. I’ve been able to do some cool things in my life and be around a lot of cool stuff – a cool sport like NASCAR – but the first time I heard him cry after he was born was by far the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me. My wife and I are very lucky. Everything is going great.

“How can something so small create your heart to feel so much love and so much pain all at the same time? We’re very, very proud of everything that’s going on and I’m looking forward to this part of my life.”

Best of luck to Elliott and Amanda on their journey through parenthood and get well wishes for a swift recovery for Wyatt, who has had an extended stay in the hospital after some surgery on his appendix and intestines following his birth. Everything is going great and Amanda also is recovering well.

Johnny Sauter and wife Cortney welcomed their first son, Penn Joseph (PIC), on January 13th. Johnny is the driver of the #13 Thor Sport Racing truck in the Camping World series. With any luck, their number will bring them success in the rain-delayed running of the NextEra Energy Resources 250 tonight, Penn's one month birthday.

#7, It's A 'G' Thing, Baby
Athena Barber gave birth to Garrett Robert Gordon (PIC) on January 28th. This lil' one looks just like his namesake -- and he's built for speed with racing in both mom's and dad's genes and a solid racing name: Garrett Gordon. Reserve the #7. For G, of course.

Oh, baby! Sadlers expecting their first of this...

Elliott and Amanda Sadler announced this week that they are expecting their first child.

Elliott: "We are so excited. It's been awesome and all the fans have been so supportive of it all week, and I'll tell ya ... of all the cool things I've been able to do in my lifetime and all the cool things I've done in racing, that was the happiest time of my life when I found out we were having a baby. Absolutely mean it. I can't wait 'til March to get here when it happens ... gonna be a great deal."

The NASCAR couple, who married in February, plan to have 3-4 children so they figured it was time to get started.

2009 Shaping Up to be Big Year for Matt and Katie Kenseth

How apropos that the biggest NASCAR WAG headline of season-opening weekend belongs to the wife of Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth.

Katie Kenseth is expecting the couple's first child together!

... she's about five months along. These two have been married for eight years and fans have been waiting for forEVer for this great news. Congrats to Matt and Katie.

UPDATE: Kaylin Nicola Kenseth arrived on July 6!

C'mon, Ryan and Krissie Newman. You could be next! A word of warning to the fans hoping for this ... Krissie once said she didn't want to start a family until Ryan was within five years of retirement. Be careful what you wish for.
