Jamie McMurray takes the checkered flag at Daytona (Getty Images)
After getting kicked to the curb in 2009 by Roush Fenway Racing due to the four-car cap, Jamie McMurray landed a gig at EGR with former boss Chip Ganassi. Today, he reminded all of the above about his talent behind the wheel of a racecar when he drove the #1 Bass Pro Shop Chevrolet to victory, becoming the 34th driver to win the Daytona 500.
With a boost from former RFR teammate, Greg Biffle, MacMurray stole the show leading only two laps on the way to his fourth Cup Series win, while fending off a wild run from Dale Earnhardt Jr. who nearly challenged the #1 for the win after restarting in the 10th position with two laps to go.
