NASCAR fans have a reason to turn into reality TV this mid-season -- either out of genuine interest ... or in hopes of seeing a trainwreck.
The CW has announced the contestants of America's Next Top Model Cycle 12 and there is a familiar face among them:
ANTM Contestant Kortnie "Not Everything Is Flat In Kansas" Coles
Raise your hand if you thought you'd be opening that up to a picture of Athena Barber -- maybe next season?
The CW describes Kortnie as a 24-year-old non-profit organizer ... we call her an ex-NASCAR WAG.
Kortnie Coles, who hails from Houston, is the ex-girlfriend of NASCAR's most eligible bachelor, Dale Earnhardt Jr. While their relationship was one of the driver's most public romances, it was also his typical short-lived, commencing in April of 2004 at Texas Motor Speedway and fizzling out early that summer.
Kortnie was well-liked by Junior's friends, but like most of his love interests she wasn't exactly popular among NASCAR's female fans. Even years after the fact she has managed to conjure up feelings of ire among some. This can be partially attributed to her being "just a fan" herself -- one who happened to be in the right place at the right time. She caught Junior's eye and became the #1 ingredient in the recipe for bitter stew. "Why couldn't that have been me?," fans lamented.
Question is ... will Kortnie get any support from NASCAR Nation now? Is the past behind us? Or are ya still living to hate her?
ANTM fans have already have already begun speculating on elimination order (harsh!) -- one has Kortnie going as far as the final two and she's already got supporters: Team Kortnie.
What do you think? Can Kortnie go all the way?
Top Model premieres Wednesday, Feb. 25 @ 8pm.
