#6 hauler driver critically injured in this...

NASCAR.com - The driver of the No. 6 Nextel Cup transporter [Joe Millikan] was critically injured Wednesday in a multi-vehicle accident invovling three tractor-trailers and a mobile home in Sierra Blanca, Texas... The hauler was in route from Las Vegas, where two days of preseason testing concluded Tuesday, to Concord, N.C. ...

According to Border Patrol officials at the checkpoint, the hauler struck a motor home, which then struck another 18-wheeler that then struck a second tractor-trailer... According to ABC-7 reporter Darren Hunt, the front part of the rig's cab was completely torn off.

Emergency crews with Culberson and Hudspeth counties in Texas, and the city of Fort Hancock, Texas, all responded to the scene of the accident.

The hauler was only transporting the No. 6 racecar. Driver David Ragan was not involved in the wreck.

UPDATE 2.1.07: Statement from Roush Racing
Two Roush Racing employees were injured in a multi-vehicle accident 85 miles east of El Paso, Texas yesterday morning. Justin Grebe, the driver of the No. 6 Roush Racing NEXTEL Cup transporter was treated and released from Thomason Hospital. Driving partner Joe Millikan, a passenger, is in stable condition in the Thomason Hospital intensive care unit. The two were returning to Concord, N.C. from a test in Las Vegas, Nev. According to local news reports, two other people also were taken to Thomason Hospital after suffering non life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash has not been determined. Roush Racing will provide additional details as they become available.

NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s previous flame Marisa Miller is the highest entry on the list of women of interest to Answer this... readers.  Apparently, marriage agrees with Marisa, who web Hollywood producer Griffin Guess last April. AskMen.com readers find her slightly more desirable this year (#12) than last (#14).

The glow of pregnancy helped Rock Star hostess Brooke Burke, who gave birth to Heaven Rain on Jan. 8, climb the chart from #43 to #25.

Dezeray's Hammer (f.k.a. Albert Hill) has been--hands down--the tallglassofmilk's favorite formerly signed, then unsigned, then re-signed and unsigned again and still pluggin' away rock bands from Spartanburg, S.C.  In fact, they are on my all-time favorite list, second only to Fleetwood Mac, and will remain there even though the group has officially called it quits and frontman / singer / songwriter / producer extraordinaire Aaron James Whisnant is moving to Nashville to pursue other career opportunities.

Albert Hill's Volume I was the first album project I was ever involved in. Recorded in Nashville at Reba McIntire's Starstruck Studios in 1996, it remains my favorite unreleased album ever. To this day, Aaron considers those days of first being signed to a major label a career highlight and I am proud to share in those fond memories.

Speaking of sharing, I never do miss an opportunity to share my love for the band with others and even gave the band's fellow Carolinian Dale Earnhardt Jr. a copy of half of their catalog when he was out this way in 2004.

I do believe the most memorable moment the band has of TGOM is from backstage after a show at Brownie's in NYC when I gave the band's former bass player, Chris Francisco, the shoes off my feet - a pair of black Doc Martens.  That night when I got home--late and barefooted--I took a little heat from the band's A&R (and my then boyfriend and giver of said Docs) who was sick and missed the show, but I digress.

Anyone who knows me has heard me say that "talent's a m*ther f*cker" when it comes to attraction.  And it's certainly no serect that TGOM is a sucker for creative talent.  But it is a wonder that all these years have passed without the exposure of my affinity for Aaron James, on whom I have harbored a secret crush--since 1996.  Oops.  Did I just think that out loud?  I really must stop doing this...

JJ: "Certainly. It was funny, we were on vacation. Jeff (Gordon) was down in St. Bart's as well with his wife Ingrid (Vandebosch). His lifestyle has changed a lot now that she's pregnant. We had four different friends down there, all with kids -- the oldest being 2 or 3. Just mobile and on a tear. And we're watching our friends chase their kids and worry about bottles and we looked at each other and said, `You know what? Maybe we should just hold off for a while.'"

Dale Jr. clashes with this...

The second go-round of the Inaugural Dale Jr. PBR Clash concluded tonight from the Charlotte Bobcats Arena.  North Carolina native and NASCAR's most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., who lent his name to the event, was in the house tonight with girlfriend Elizabeth to watch 1999 World Champion Cody Hart came out on top, winning round two with an 87.5 trip aboard Bad Company Rodeo's Born to Boogie. 

Quoting this...
Dale Jr.: "The PBR has some of the toughest bull riders in the world. I've been watching the PBR Tour for a while and have befriended a couple of the cowboys on tour. They are great guys, but to do what they do, you not only need to be an excellent athlete, but a little psycho too. I’d much rather be in my race car in a pack going three wide at 200 mph for days, than to climb on a 2000 pound angry bull for eight seconds. I'm really looking forward to being involved with bringing the PBR to Charlotte. It’s going to be a fun weekend in January."

Junior isn't the only member of the NASCAR family who enjoys a ride with a bull now and then.  Last night's NASCAR celeb attendees included Clint Bowyer, with girlfriend Athena, and David Stremme and his girlfriend Whitney Jacobs.

Round three gets underway tomorrow at 2 p.m., culminating with a championship go-round for the top 15 bull riders, which will determine who will be the first Dale Jr. PBR Clash event champion.

Hart's efforts tonight resulted in a $2,730 dollar payday, and a current fifth place in the event standings.  Currently leading the event with 173.5 on two head, is Dustin Hall (Springfield, Mo.), followed closely by 2005 PBR World Champion Justin McBride (Elk City, Okla.).
