It was announced today that Warhead Records, in conjunction with SpeedwayMedia.com, has launched a drive to benefit Jayski's Computer Lab at the Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, N.C.
For each copy sold of Lee Roy Mercer's NASCALLS, 100% of the NASCAR drivers', crew chiefs' and owners' royalties will be donated towards the computer lab at Victory Junction. A portion of Lee Roy's Record Royalties will benefit Victory Junction as well.
In addition, each person who buys a copy of NASCALLS will be entered to win a Hot Pass/all-access credential to the Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 26.
NASCALLS is a CD filled with hilarious prank calls made to top NASCAR drivers, including Tony Stewart, Rusty Wallace, Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick and many more. The CD also features an interview with former NASCAR Cup driver Rick Mast featuring the stars of ROWDY and a performance of "American Redneck" featuring CattleAxe (Tom Bettini, formerly of JACKYL, and Greg Yates, the former guitar player for David Allan Coe). Each CD comes with a certificate of authenticity, certifying that the recordings are authentic.
Fans can listen to a sample track of Tony Stewart's call and purchase the CD here. For more information and updates about the album visit, www.leeroymercer.com.
Victory Junction Gang Camp opened their doors in 2004, in tribute to Adam Petty, an up-and-coming stock car racer who was killed in 2000 at New Hampshire International Speedway. The camp serves children, ages 7-15 who have health problems. The camp is a member of the Hole in the Wall Gang, which was started by actor Paul Newman. The computer lab has been an ongoing effort of readers of Jayski's Silly Season site. The lab allows camp visitors to design their own website and keep up-to-date on the latest NASCAR news.
