Q. Has Eva Bryan said anything since what happened last weekend?
A. I'm not aware of any post-incident remarks from Kurt Busch's fiancée, but according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's report, she said plenty during the incident:
As [Busch] got out of the vehicle the passenger in the front seat started talking to me. I walked around to the passenger side so I could hear her. She later identified herself as [blacked out]. She stated that it was her fault he got pulled over because she had to [sic] much to drink and was arguing with him. [...]
I again contacted Mrs. [blacked out]* and asked her if she would submit to a PBT test to determine if she could drive the vehicle. Mrs. [blacked out] stated that she had to [sic] much to drink and would call a family member to get her and the vehicle. I asked her where they were coming from and she said they had dinner at a Mexican Restaurant. I asked her how much alcohol she had to drink and she said about a half of a large margarita. She then stated that the whole thing was her fault because she was "drunk and bitching at him and that's why he was speeding and driving the way he was." I asked besides speeding how else was he driving. She said "you know passing people and stuff." I asked what is and stuff? She then said "I probably shouldn't be telling you this stuff."
Mrs. [blacked out] called someone to pick her up and Thomas Busch arrived on scene and took custody of the vehicle and Mrs. [blacked out].
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Supplemental Report
* Note: Earlier in the police report, it states that Busch referred to the passenger as his wife. In the portion of the document that describes her identifying herself, the name is blacked out, but I assume it says Eva Bryan. I also assume the officer refers to her as Mrs. Busch in the report due to Busch's reference to her as his wife. I do not assume they are married.
