The Ryan Newman Foundation was established in January 2005 by NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Ryan Newman and his wife Krissie to provide philanthropic efforts that would enrich the lives of people and animals throughout the nation. The foundation has identified three primary areas of focus:
- To help humane organizations establish and maintain programs that will reduce the overpopulation and euthanization of abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats, increase the adoption of homeless pets, provide humane education to youth and adults, and prevent cruelty to animals while encouraging collaboration between humane societies, animal rescue groups and animal control agencies. — Companion Animals & Animal Welfare
- To help nonprofit organizations in the preservation and conservation of wildlife and their environment, including but not limited to fish, game animals and other animals of the woodlands of the United States. — Conservation & Preservation of Wildlife
- To provide scholarships for students pursuing a degree at a university or college while continuing their involvement in quarter midget, midget and Silver Crown auto racing. — Auto Racing Scholarships
