Tee it up. The mature Senator likes the way Pedro trims this...

A lot of folks in South Carolina probably had good intentions when they elected this guy to office:

Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican and a supporter of the McCain-Kennedy bill, said those calling for illegal aliens to go home need to grow up.

"America needs to mature on this issue, and they need to understand we've got a lot of people here for the right reason," he said.

Mr. Graham said illegal aliens contribute to the economy and take difficult jobs such as landscaping, and he noted that as a golfer he probably benefits from their labor. [Wash. Post]

but I'd say it's 'bout time to kick him off the golf cart.

Unless of course you think the right reason taxpayers should bear the expense of illegal immigrants is so that our Senators can have neatly trimmed golf-courses to stroke off while we're paying them to work.

And is it me or did the Senator just insult the demographic he's pandering to by implying that all an immigrant is capable of is stealing the job of the kid down the street who mows the lawn?

Let this be a lesson to all.  Never put a dude with a chic's name in office.

I'm glad to see that some of our representatives are able to see this issue clearly. One has to admire this senator's ability to see the real issue through the fog created by the rhetoric of the anti-immigration movemen.

"Let this be a lesson to all. Never put a dude with a chic's name in office."

Haha, classic!

hell yeah sister! tell it like it is! that s.o.b. probaly has a full staff of illegal aliens!

Silly Tony. Illegal aliens are for the immature. The mature Senator probably only employs undocumented workers.

Hi, I thought you might be interested in this . I linked here via rottweiler puppy.

I do not like this problem either. I think if we think about we all benfit from illegal alien/undocumented labor. The restaurant industry hires a lot of these people as doe the hotel industry.

It is unrealistic to send all these people back becasue our economy would suffer. Sen. Graham is right, yes it irritates some that he mentioned his golfing. However, we best remeber where we also benefit from this labor.

It hink though once we solve the current mess we need to make sure that we do not end up here again in a few years becasue we do not enforce the laws on the books. We are here because of lack of enforcement not because Senators like cheap greens fees.

You don't think there's any connection between the Senator enjoying a trimmed fairway and lack of enforcement?

Also, perhaps you could check the Coming to America category for all of the ways we don't benefit from ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS (no matter what you call them).

They include, but are not limited to, trememdous taxypayer burden, decline in quality of education, unaffordable healthcare, job loss for American citizens and increased crime, non-violent and violent--Mexican cop-killer Raul Gomez-Garcia comes to mind first.

And you think we need to worry about the economy suffering if we kick people out?

Honey, come to California. We're already suffering.

Agree 100% with TGOM - come to Miami! Oh wait - you'll be here in 3 weeks!!!! Sorry you'll feel right at home here...

One more thing - for those of you who are interested in learning yiddish, this guy is definitely a "schmuck" - you may also use the word "putz" - in fact, you may use them both together, as in "schmucky putz"

They hurt the economy, nouille. While the facade of cheap labor "helps" America's prosperity...the truth is that they absorb more than they put into the economy. Our dollars are sent to Mexico. That's money earned not going back into our economy. They are raping our hospitals and our school systems. Even if they pay taxes...their low wage doesn't even compensated for the roads, public services, or other state-funded care systems they use. There is nothing beneficial when it comes to illegals.

The only thing they bring is disease, crime, and a streaming resentment to assimilate into our culture. The only thing an illegal alien does do is destroy our country from the inside. Harsh, yes. But the facts are out there. Illegals do nothing but hurt our economy. The only reason we do nothing is because all the law enforcement and politicians refuse to do their job all while talking out both sides of their mouths for votes. It's sickening.

We definitely don't have the smartest people in south carolina. Didn't vote for that guy though.
