I don't typically do roundups, but as I begin this post in an effort to battle the ignorance of the problems created by our immigration policy and illegal immigration, I'm feeling like it could become a regular feature (ok, maybe not all 50 states every time). 

So, while I have everyone's attention due to the release of the Center for Immigration Studies' Births to Immigrants in America Report, I intend to take full advantage of this...

Nice roundup. We've written about one of the most obvious policy changes necessary, the lack of detention facilities which leads illegal immigrants from non-Mexico Latin America to be released and trusted to show up for a deportation hearing. Up to 98% of these individuals skip the hearing and word of this loophole filtering back to Latin American nations has increased 8-fold since 1995 the number of Latin American immigrants taking advantage of it. This year is trending towards 120,000 immigrants taking advantage of the loophole, and the number is almost doubling each year.
