I won't vote to give Los Angeles to this...
Will I be voting for the wretched Mayor Hahn to continue running LA into the ground? It's looking that way.
'Cause despite the what I said about Villargairosa before, it turns out he has two faces and now that I've done more digging and I doubt I'll be mustering up inspiration for anything but a full denouncement of this...
- While at UCLA, Villaraigosa was the President of MEChA:
"general membership shall consist of any student who accepts, believes and works for the goals and objectives of MEChA, including the liberation of AZTLAN, meaning self-determination of our people in this occupied state and the physical liberation of our land."
- Villaraigosa was the only California elected official to speak at the October 1996 Latino March on Washington, D.C., organized by Juan Jose Gutierrez, director of One Stop Immigration (illegal alien advocates). Sharing the stage with the Brown Berets, the uniformed soldiers (defense unit) of the Aztlan movement, he and others demanded rights for "undocumented people"; free medical care, free education through college, $7 minimum wage with rights to union membership, and another massive amnesty for those residing illegally in the United States.
- As keynote speaker at Southwest Voter Registration Project's (SVRP) 1997 conference, Villaraigosa told hundreds of guests, "It is not enough to elect Latino leadership. Latino elected officials who don't support drivers' licenses for the undocumented and prenatal care for undocumented mothers don't belong in office."
- While in the California Assembly, Speaker Antonio Villaraigosa thanked Mexico's President Ernesto Zedillo for helping kill Proposition 187, which denied benefits to Mexicans who broke our laws to live in California illegally.
As bad as Hahn is for Los Angeles, at least he knows it's part of California. At least for now.

Makes you want to move back to Iowa, doesn't it. At least, that is, until you realize that Iowa's next...
Cheers,

Actually, a move to Tom Tancredo's Colorado is never far from mind... Think he'd gimme a job?

Hahn referred to Los Angeles as a Mexican City.
We're screwed. More about MeCHA.
Not thrilled with Tancredo, either. His association with Bay Buchanan (Pat's sister) is scary. If she went full-"David Kaczynski" on her brother, I'd feel better about Tancredo. I don't want Tancredo to be the camel's nose that gets Pat Buchanan back into the political tent.
Now if you want to see my prophetic view on the source of our border problems, drink this.
