A little gets a lot a long way to this...
I was immediately inspired to get a care package out to fellow blogger Risawn, a.k.a. Sgt. E., in Kosovo when she posted about the Hohenfels Weight Control Program the army's got her on.
Her needs aren't quite the same as the packages I sent to Iraq, particulary in the early days. But clearly she is in need of some between meal snacks, and really, who couldn't use some familiar entertainment when you're that far from home?
So, with some stuff I already had on hand and a little help from my friends and co-workers, I've managed to put together a healthy package of recognizable snacks and some American entertainment.
Now I gotta get it there. I'm asking for your help A) because I need it--this sucker is gonna be about $60; and B) because it offers me an opportunity to offer you the opportunity to make a small gesture towards the grand efforts of some special members of our armed forces.
And we all know, it's the little things in life that matter most.
Sparing your spare change today, makes for abundant smiles tomorrow. So, if you could skip that soda, or latté, or ice cream cone, or Bud today so that some good folks in Kosovo can get an Oreo, I promise it'll make you feel better.

You have got to be kidding!
I think I'll make an extra donation to UNICEF instead.
Surely there are some stray dogs or cats in Bondsteel with which little miss whiney butt can sate her epicurean palate.
When I was in the Navy we had to scrape the bilges for breakfast...

I kid you not. And I'd do more if I could. I only wish I could have done something for you.
But I'm not holding it against Risawn that she may not have it as rough as you did. Right now I'm appreciating her and other members of the US armed forces than anything that has the letters U and N in it. But you go ahead and do what you gotta do.
Thanks to all of you that have contributed. I've just about got enough to cover the box and if I have a little extra left over I'll use it to put more stuff in the box!

I see your point, but I've got a soft spot for heavily armed women...
Cheers,

I guarantee it was a lot easier for me to earn it than what she is dealing with. Anytime I can back up my teammate and help someone who deserves it. I am all over it.

Probably not; others worse of than her already got them. Note for comparison that the squirrel has been extinct in northern Italy since shortly after the end of WWII.
Besides, altho she is proud of her basic combat skills, Risawn trained as a medic, not as a snake eater.
