My enthusiasm for this...
hasn't grown any since this...
I'm still undecided at the 11th hour of the LA Mayoral race. I'm not alone.
The polls say it's a three-way-tie going in o tomorrow.
NYT: "James K. Hahn should be coasting to re-election as mayor of Los Angeles."
CNN: "Incumbent in trouble in Los Angeles mayoral election"
I'm in need of a reason, any reason to vote for any of the candidates tomorrow. And even though one of my co-workers insists it is so, it's not because they're all democrats. It's because they are all lame and unexciting and there just aren't enough good reasons to vote for any of them.
LAVoice.org: "WHAT the ...? - A DIS-endorsement of Mayor Hahn"
I can't really come up with any reasons to give Hahn another term.
What a surprise. The former police chief in charge during the biggest (?) scandal in the history of the LAPD would have to be stupid to help the city get to the bottom of it. And he'd have to be stupid to think we're gonna give him the whole city to corrupt.
KTLA: Hertzberg gets a lift from Gov.
The only good reason I know of to vote for Hertzberg is that the Gov'nator endorses his education plan and breaking up LAUSD. I can get with that. And a good relationship with the state's head master could be beneficial to the city.
Then there's Antonio Villaraigosa, whom I might be able to muster up enough inspiration for just 'cause he's a Latino who pissed off refused to cater to the Mechistas.
Oh, and did I mention there is a Republican, only one that I know of, and he's so memorable that I don't even recall his name? The only thing I do remember about him, is that the main platform on his website appeared to be a promise for no-kill shelters. I also don't recall the finances with which he planned to back this, only that it seemed an odd platform until I considered he knew he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell and chose just to further a cause.
Any and all advice most welcome. Sarcasm much appreciated.
