President Nominates Michael Chertoff as Secretary of Homeland Security
Many are wondering Who is he?
I didn't know much more than this..., but found Digger to be helpful cause he dug around and gathered posts to draw his on conclusions on this...
It gave me some peace of mind to know that Michelle Malkin does know a little something about Michael Chertoff and thinks he's a wise choice.

"Any individual who seeks to abuse our immigration laws will face serious consequences for violating our borders."
~ Assistant Attorney General Michael Chertoff, Feb. 26, 2002 [www.usdoj.gov]

Michael Chertoff resume
DHS | Department of Homeland Security

He seems to be a pretty solid choice, confirmed by the Senate on three previous occasions, the only Clinton-appointed US Attorney kept by Bush and a former appellate court judge he should know both the ins and outs of government and running an agency.
I would, of course, feel somewhat more comfortable if his first official act was to pour gasoline on Norm Minetta and toss a match but we can't have everything.
