John Kerry actually said this...
"When we are at war, we need to do the things that make us safe rapidly, immediately. If there is something that will make America safer, it should be done now, not tomorrow."He meant this to criticize the the president for not calling a special session of Congress to immediately implement the recommendations of the Sept. 11 commission. Right. Like Kerry would show up anyway.
Interestingly, with regards to Bush's immediate action to remove Saddam, Kerry said this...
"It was not a mistake to remove Saddam. What was a mistake was the fact that George Bush went to war without our allies, without properly equipping our troops and without a plan to win the peace."That's right--he acted immediately, without waiting for you.
You see Mr. Kerry, you spent several years on the Senate Intelligent Committee, certainly you were qualified to "prepare a plan to win the peace" for your commander-in-chief to execute, but you did not.
And you certainly you could have voted to "properly equip our troops," but you did not.
And you say you have a plan to gain support from our "allies," but you will not
have the opportunity.
And now that we have the opportunity to vote for you, we will not. Cause we don't have time for you.
