Childless couple told to try sex
A German couple who went to a fertility clinic after eight years of marriage have found out why they are still childless - they weren't having sex.
The University Clinic of Lubek said they had never heard of a case like it after examining the couple who went to see them last month for fertility tests.
Doctors subjected them to a series of examinations and found they were both apparently fertile, and should have had no trouble conceiving.
A clinic spokesman said: "When we asked them how often they had had sex, they looked blank, and said: "What do you mean?".
"We are not talking retarded people here, but a couple who were brought up in a religious environment who were simply unaware, after eight years of marriage, of the physical requirements necessary to procreate."
The 30-year-old wife and her 36-year-old husband are now being given sex therapy lessons while the university clinic undertakes a study to try to find out if there are more couples with a similar lack of sex education.

The more I think about it, the more I am confounded by this...
How is it that in this many years of life it seems this couple never even heard of sex...?
What the f*ck is, or should I say isn't, going on over there in Germany?

Wow, what a story. Being an avid reader of newspapers, magazins etc. here in Germany I was amazed to have missed that story. Tried to find something via Google with the words "Lübeck" (german spelling of the city), "universitätsklinik" (again German spelling), "sex" and "fruchtbarkeit" (= fertility). Did not find anything but an advertising from the clinic for the parental planning. So it seems that this is just another modern fairytale, but: "si non e vero, e bon trovato" ( if it not true, at least it is well made up!).
Besides: as German magazins and TV are much more graphic and openly display nude pics and show sexual acts (not in detail, mind you) in TV-shows it is hard to believe that someone in Germany has not learned about sex. And we have teaching about your body and sex in biology classes in 8th or 9th grad in all German schools. But of course a strong religious background might keep people from watching and learning........
There is only one little flaw in the story: if the couple did never have sex and seems not to have also no prior knowledge about sex, the woman should have been a virgin, right? And no doctor, not even the most stupid German doctor would need " a series of examinations" to find that out, now would he?
Anyway, this story seems to have been taken out of one of my favourite books, Catch22. There is the story of the squadrons doctor being visited by a married young couple, the girl with gorgeous breast with a medallion of Saint Anthony dangling between them which confuses him mightily. He than too finds out, that each of the couple are just "doing" it to the other, but when he takes some puppets to show them about intercourse they blush and leave the building. The story ends with the guy coming back, presumably after having tried the new lesson with his wife and punshing the doctor without another word in the nose. Great book, neat little detail.

Yeah, it's definitely inconceivable they hadn't heard of sex. Somewhat inconceivable they didn't know sex was the natural way to procreate.
But surely they watch movies, TV, read books, something to inspire that kind of activity, right?
So what, they tried it and didn't like it? I suppose this is conceivable, but, well, uh, does not compute.
But is it fake? That would be a bummer. I was getting a kick out of this.... time to file away with this...

I almost feel sorry for these people. We can only guess as to why they went through life without ever knowing about sex. It makes me think if they've ever asked how babies were made, or if they were curious enough as children to find out on their own. So sad and weird.

Hey Jenlynn: I checked once again all reliable media sources here in Germany and even the tabloids: did not find any mentioning of this story, least of all proof. Read more about this in my and Tallglassofmilk-comments above....
the likelyhood that this is another modern fairy tale is close to 99 %. Still fun to read, I have to admit.

I was outraged also by the actions of these things that have the nerve to call themselves human beings serving a God named Allah. No God would sanction such behavior. Beings who can do such things can only be called scum and deserve to receive fate as they doled out. I am also disgusted with the way the American troops treated the Iraqi prisoners. There was no need for that, we had an opportunity to show them what America was supposed to stand for and we blew it. In their eyes there is no difference between the soldiers that held them for Saddam Hussein and the US. It is a tragedy. We are heading for World War 3 here people. No one is willing to sit down and try and work this out. There must come a point where you either make peace or you face ultimate destruction. Remember Germany 1945. The millions dead in Dresden, Hamburgs firestorm, Berlin. Thats what happens when people can not be reasonable. The Mid East is headed for its destruction because its own people cannot make peace with themselves. Israel, Palestine, Al Quaida, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria and Lebanon. Its so stupid because they are all descended from Abraham the same man. Or so the holy books tell them. But death and destruction is all they understand. They do not do things for life and the living and the improvement of their collective existance. Perhaps the US should return to its isolationist philosophy of the early 20th century and keep all our aid for ourselves. Let them all kill each other and there are no more Jews and Arabs. The sheep and the goats, and all the other animals may graze on the hillsides there and the camels may run wild thru the dunes without a human soul there to enslave them knowing full well that the humans did it to themselves.

Yea, God gave man (and woman) dominion over the animals. But don’t get twitter-pated over animals running free. That’s what they do when we are or are’nt around, despite PETA’s best efforts.
